The internet freaked out after a bombshell moment in the finale of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
[SPOILERS AHEAD, obviously.]
In a weird, real-life retelling of Gossip Girl, Heather Gay claimed fellow housewife Monica Garcia ran a longstanding account aimed at attacking and trolling the RHOSLC cast. While admitting some involvement in the account, Reality Von Tease, Garcia somewhat denied these claims — though Gay promised and revealed reams of proof — in a bonkers, final dinner scene with the entire cast. Surely, this will all be litigated, then re-litigated, in the upcoming three-part finale.
It's hard to overstate how wild the episode and reveal was. The other cast members were livid that Garcia was (at least somewhat) behind the Instagram gossip account Reality Von Tease, which they said had come after everyone. Garcia noted her focus was taking down Jen Shah — the former RHOSLC cast member she previously worked for — who was convicted and sentenced to 6.5 years in prison for a telemarketing fraud scheme targeting the elderly.
So, anyway, the internet freaked out because of course. The troll was coming from inside the (Bermuda vacation) house! That is unlike anything else we've ever seen play out beyond the scripted melodrama of Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars. And it's a fascinating study in digital culture — trolling with anonymous accounts has become so common that the trolls are getting hired onto the show they troll.
The reactions varied. Lots of folks loved it, or at least appreciated the good reality TV drama.

Monica herself, meanwhile, has leaned into the drama. She posted about being Reality Von Tease, signing off on the post like Gossip Girl.
Now this whole big reveal — which came at the end of the season — has people digging for more info and jumping down rabbit holes. Because that is what the internet does.

But some people also noted that the RHOSLC gals were way more angry at Monica than Shah — who ran a literal fraud scheme and gave Gay a black eye in Season 3, Gay finally revealed. It all seems a bit odd.

It feels like there is quite a bit more to be revealed, most likely at the reunion. But one thing is for sure: Fans were enthralled by the episode.
