It's official: Venmo is coming out of your smartphone and into your wallet.
On Monday, the mobile payments app announced the limited release of an actual, physical debit card that users can swipe IRL to pay directly from their Venmo balance. Because the card is linked to their accounts, Venmo debit card owners will still be able to monitor transactions and split charges with friends through the app.
The Venmo debit card can be used anywhere MasterCard is accepted, as well as at ATMs to withdraw cash. But though purchases at brick-and-mortar establishments won't have any extra fees, cash withdrawals will cost users $2.50. Read more...
